Land into the old city

Settle into the walkable, moat-ringed, temple-dense Old City (or Nimman for cafes and the nomad scene). A first slow temple wander as the day cools.
Night-market khao soi
First khao soi — northern coconut-curry noodles — at a night-market bowl.
Day 02 · Chiang Mai
The elephants (the right way)
Elephant Nature Park
An ethical sanctuary — no riding, no bathing-for-photos, no tricks. You watch, walk and feed (~$80–130, book 1–2 weeks ahead). The day people remember.
Day 03 · Chiang Mai
Temples + a cooking class
Khao Soi Khun Yai
An early lunch — get there before 11:30, it sells out. The best khao soi in the city.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
The mountain temple over the city — best at sunset.
Day 04 · Chiang Mai
Slow + markets
Sunday Walking Street
Old City temple wander at your own pace, a massage, then the Sunday market (food + crafts) if your dates land on a Sunday.

Arrive into the cliffs
Railay Beach
No roads, no cars — towering limestone karsts and beach, reached by longtail from Ao Nang. The arrival is half the magic.

Day 06 · Railay
Water + caves
Phra Nang Cave Beach
Swim the cove with the cave shrine, kayak the mangroves, or climb (Railay is world-class). Everyone else: float.
Railay viewpoint + lagoon
The short, steep scramble to the Railay viewpoint and hidden lagoon (muddy but worth it), then a slow afternoon.
Day 07 · Railay
Island-hop, gently
Phi Phi Islands
A day-trip (Maya Bay, snorkelling, lagoons) — or skip it for a no-plans beach day. The slow trip says: pick one.
Day 08 · Railay
Last morning
Ao Nang Beach
Final swim, longtail back to Ao Nang, fly out via Krabi.
