A free, easy 2km hillside trail, best in the soft late light — the gentlest possible welcome to Ubud.
Warung dinner near base
Ease in cheap and local — nasi campur at a warung near your stay (IDR 25,000–60,000).
Day 02 · Ubud
Rice, water, ritual
Tegallalang Rice Terraces
Go 6–8am for gold light and no swing crowds. ~20 min north of Ubud; donation entry.
Tirta Empul Temple
The holy-spring purification temple — do the melukat water-cleansing ritual; it's the distinctive bit, not the photo.
Babi Guling Ibu Oka
Bali's most legendary suckling pig near the Palace — go for the mixed plate. Sells out by mid-afternoon, so really a late lunch.
Day 03 · Ubud
Choose your one big thing
Mount Batur
Pre-dawn sunrise trek — 2hr hike, breakfast cooked in volcanic steam above the clouds (~US$35–65 with pickup). Then nap the afternoon.
Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary
Gentler alternative: the Hindu temple complex and hundreds of macaques. ~1–2 hr.

Day 04 · Uluwatu
Cliffs and a fire dance
Uluwatu Temple
Clifftop sea temple — come for the sunset Kecak fire dance (~75 performers). Watch your sunglasses around the monkeys.
Single Fin Uluwatu
Clifftop bar above the Suluban break for the sunset crowd, or somewhere quiet if the temple was enough.
Day 05 · Uluwatu
Slow water day
Padang Padang Beach
The swimmable cove below the cliffs — beach, swim, a surf lesson if you're tempted, or a half-day spa.
Single Fin Uluwatu
A long, unhurried clifftop dinner and sunset drinks above the Suluban break — the whole point of basing here is the light at this hour.
Day 06 · Uluwatu
One last morning
Suluban Beach
A last morning at the cave-mouth beach below the cliffs before the short drive to the airport (Uluwatu's the closest base, ~30 min).
